Marie Alercia, 75, of Phillipsburg, NJ, died Saturday, July 12, 1997 in Easton Hospital, Wilson Boro, PA. She retired from the Northampton Pants Co. In 1970, after working for 20 years as a sewing machine operator. Born March 5, 1922 in Phillipsburg, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Maria Sinopli Tolotta. She was a member of St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church, Phillipsburg, NJ, where she was active in the Over Fifties Club. She was also a member of the Altar Society of St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Easton, PA. She was a member of the Warren County A.A.R.P. and the Phillipsburg Senior Center Bridge Club. She was a past member of the Porter School P.T.A. in Easton. She and her husband observed their 55th wedding anniversary February 14th. In addition to her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Margaret Ann Horn of New Cumberland, PA; two sisters, Rose Ritz of Lopatcong Twp., NJ and Kay Volpe of Phillipsburg; one brother, Anthony of Cape Coral, Fla.; and two granddaughters. Funeral services will be held 9:00 a.m. Tuesday from the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church, 426 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Entombment will be in the Holy Apostle's Mausoleum in St. Philip and St. James Cemetery, Greenwich Twp., NJ. Calling hours will be held 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. The family requests memorial donations, which will be used to obtain a memorial item in her memory, for the church, to be sent to the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg, NJ 08865. |
