Elizabeth B. Allison
Elizabeth B. Allison, 95, of
Mansfield Twp., NJ, died Wednesday, December 12, 2001 in her
home.
She was an elementary school
teacher for the Knowlton Twp. Elementary School in Knowlton Twp.,
NJ from 1958 until her retirement in 1981.
Born December 11, 1906 in Rotterdam,
Holland, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Maria Van
dam Boerledge.
She earned a B.S. degree in Elementary
Education from East Stroudsburg University and an M.A. degree
in Early Childhood Education from Kean University in Union, NJ.
She was a member of the Church
of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Blairstown, NJ.
She was predeceased by two husbands,
Loring George and Henry E. Allison, Sr.
She is survived by two sons,
David George of Sun City, Fla. and Henry E. Allison, Jr. of Bath,
Pa.; a sister, Maria Overholt of Piqua, OH; seven grandchildren
and ten great-grandchildren. She was also a foster mother for
over thirty children. A daughter, Deina Makatura, a brother Peter
and two sisters, Cora Anderson and Deina Mabray all died earlier.
Private cremation will take place
at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation
period. A memorial gathering will be scheduled at a later date.
The Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg
is handling the arrangements.
