Shirley L. Bachman

Shirley L. Bachman, 66, of Phillipsburg, NJ, died Saturday, November 11, 2000 in Easton Hospital, Wilson Boro, Pa., where she was admitted on Thursday.

Born November 24, 1933 in Easton, she was the daughter of the late Russell W. and Tillie Reese Walters.

She was a member of St. Philip & St. James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg, where she was also a member of the Over-Fifties Club.

She graduated Easton High School in 1951.

She was instrumental in organizing many bus trips from the Phillipsburg area with a group she called the "Happy Wanderers". She also enjoyed ceramics and was a member of the Crafters of Twelve Ceramics Club in Phillipsburg. She was a member of the AARP, Ancient Order of the Hibernians, Catholic Daughter of the Americas - Court Warren, and the Warren County Election Board.

She is survived by a son, Marine Sgt. Gunnery John R. Bachman, Jr. of Quantico, VA; a daughter, Lori Ann Boyington of Phillipsburg; a sister, Arlene Price of Phillipsburg; three brothers, C. Jack Walters of Plainfield Twp., Richard F. Walters and Raymond D. Walters, both of Easton and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 9:00 a.m. Wednesday from the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St., Phillipsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. Philip and St. James Church, 426 S Main St., Phillipsburg. Rev. Guy Sylvester will be the celebrant of the Mass. Burial will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp. Calling hours will be held from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
