Ethel Bartha, 86, of Bath, formerly of Alpha, NJ, died Friday, October 17, 1997 in the Easton Nursing Center. She was a retired seamstress and had worked for M.M. Bernstein, Easton. Born March 26, 1911 in Martins Creek, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Horvath Kozare. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Alpha. She was a member of the Golden Age Club and the Altar Roasary Society, both of St. Mary's Church. She was a member of the John Dolak American Legion Post 446 Ladies's Auxiliary in Alpha, the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, Local 234 and the Hunterdon County Y.M.C.A. Her husband, the late John Bartha died April 20, 1968. Survivors include a brother, William J. Kozare of Phillipsburg; four sisters, Agnes Drosdick of Port Richie, Fla, Julia Conver of Naperville, Ill, Anne Kozare of South Plainfield, NJ and Mary Helene Curtis of Bath and several nieces and nephews. Three brothers, Joseph, Frank, Ernest and a sister, Theresa Vargo all died earlier. Funeral services will be held 9:15 a.m. Tuesday from the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 830 Fifth Ave, Alpha. A calling hour will be held 8:15 a.m. to time of services in the funeral home on Tuesday.
