S. Samuel Bevacqua

S. Samuel Bevacqua, 79, of Phillipsburg, died Thursday, September 19, 1996 in the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

He owned and operated The Razors Edge Barbershop on South Main St., Phillipsburg. He was a barber for sixty years having worked with his father who started the business in 1906.

Born September 19, 1917 in Phillipsburg, he was the son of the late Charles and Josephine Messina Bevacqua.

He was a member of St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg, NJ

He was a staff seargent with Army during World War Two.

He is survived by two sons, Barry of Newtown Square, PA and Dale of Phillipsburg; a sister, Gladys Verenna of Warren Glen; four grandchildren and his companion, Genevieve Young. Three brothers, Charles, Francis and Anthony and one sister, Mary all died earlier.

Funeral services will be held 9:00 am Saturday from the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am in St. Philip and St. James Church, 426 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial will be in St. Philip and St. James Cemetery, Greenwich Twp.
