Bernard F. Bullock, Sr.

Bernard F. Bullock, Sr., 70, of Phillipsburg, died Thursday, July 5, 2001 in Phillipsburg.

He, along with several of his brothers, owned and operated the former Bullock Auto Salvage in Harmony Twp. He was with the business for 30 years until they closed in 1985. He later worked as a driver for Helen's Floral Shoppe, Phillipsburg and as a security guard for Professional Security Bureau, Palmer Twp.

Born August 25, 1930 in Phillipsburg, he was the son of the late Roland and Gertrude Bergenback Bullock, Sr.

He was a member of St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg.

He was a volunteer for the Karen Ann Quinlan Hope Hospice for eight years.

He was a private first class in the Army and received the Germany Occupation Medal.

His wife, the former Phyllis Berger died in 1991.

He is survived by three sons, Bernard F., Jr., Michael S. and William R., all of Phillipsburg; three daughters, Barbara A. and Mary A., both of Phillipsburg and Beverly A. Mellarkey of Wilson Borough; six brothers, Roland, Jr. and Robert, both of Phillipsburg, Edward of Whiting, NJ, Carl of Tom's River, NJ, Paul of Philadelphia and Thomas of Hackettstown; a sister, Dorothy Finken of Oxford, NJ. and twelve grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 9:00 a.m. Tuesday from the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St., Phillipsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. in the church, 426 S. Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial will be in the parish cemetery, Greenwich Twp., NJ. Calling hours will be Monday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
