Alan S. "Al" Baguskis, 57, of Bethlehem Township, Hunterdon County, died Monday, February 26, 2007 in his home.

Born July 10, 1949 in Easton, Pa., he was a son of the late Alexander S. and Viola Burdge Baguskis.

In 1967, Al graduated from North Hunterdon Regional High School, then attended Churchman's Business School in Easton. While attending Churchman's, he worked part-time at the former Falk's Department Store in Pohatcong Twp.

As his career progressed, he became a teller at the Citizen's Bank in Bloomsbury and later became a vice-president of City Federal Savings Bank in Manhattan and also in Morristown, NJ. In 1987, Al wanted a career change and purchased the Rush's Meat Market in Lopatcong Township, which he owned and operated until 2000. In 1998, Al achieve his certified financial planner status and owned and operated Baguskis Financial Services from his home and formerly had an office in Milford, NJ. He continued his financial planning business from his home until his death.

Al was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bloomsbury and was a life member and former Captain of the Bloomsbury Rescue Squad. Al enjoyed the game of baseball and was a former member of the St. Philip and St. James Old Timers Softball League for many years. He also coached the Bethlehem Township Elementary School Baseball team and the Bethlehem Township Traveling Baseball team. He was a former commissioner and treasurer of the Hunterdon Huskies Football team for several years. At one time, Al was a member of the Ski Patrol in the Pocono Mountains.

Al and his wife, the former Jody S. Swauger, celebrated their eighteenth wedding anniversary January 14th.

In addition to his wife, Jody, Al is survived by his three sons, David Charles of Bethlehem Twp., and his girlfriend Heather Miller; Daniel Peter of Bethlehem Twp. and his girlfriend Anna Ramierz and Alexander S. at home; a brother, David W. and his wife Judy of Rutherfordton, North Carolina and a nephew, David Christopher Baguskis.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday in the church, 66 Church Street, Bloomsbury. The Rev. Dr. Stephen Ross will officiate the services. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Thursday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main Street, Phillipsburg and again on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of services in the church.
