Emil Joseph Buccos, 63, of Phillipsburg, died peacefully on Saturday, June 3, 2006 in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his family who cherished him deeply. Born September 14, 1942 in New York, N.Y., he was a son of the late Louis F. and Mari Bienvenue Buccos. He was a former repair technician for Royal Typewriter in New York and was last employed at Home Depot in Greenwich Twp., NJ. Emil's true passion in life was his love of the arts. He immersed himself into all forms of art from oil paintings to the abstract. He was a co-founder and member of the Riverside Festival of the Arts where he was the recipient of their Lifetime Achievement Award. He was the founder of Men and Women in Plaid, which is a group of over 100 artists in the Phillipsburg-Easton area that incorporate plaid into all of their works. He was a member of both the Warren County Arts and the Arts Community of Easton. Emil will be remembered as a gentle, humble, generous spirit; a great husband, father, brother and uncle. He was sensitive, introspective and creative. He always saw the humorous side of everything, was a voracious reader and fancied himself a philosopher of life. He and his wife Mary have lived and enjoyed their life in the Easton/Phillipsburg area for the past 16 years. He and his wife, the former Mary W. Furze would have celebrated thirty-six years of marriage June 27th. In addition to his wife, Emil is survived by a daughter, Carmelina E. Price of Jersey City, N.J.; two sisters, Jeanette Marvilli of Doylestown, Pa and Marie Williamson of Howard Beach, Queens, N.Y. A brother, Louis and a sister, Edna Gutierrez both died earlier. Private cremation was held. A celebration of Emil's life will take place Sunday, July 2nd, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Quadrant Bookmart and Coffeehouse, 20 N. 3rd Street, downtown Easton, PA. (610 252-1188). Everyone is invited to attend. The Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg is handling the arrangements.
