Sadie Comito
Sadie Comito, 86, of Phillipsburg,
died Monday, January 13, 1997 in the Care Center of Brakeley
Park, Lopatcong Twp. where she was a guest for the past week.
Born March 25, 1910 in Newton,
NJ, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Carmella Valentino
Sgrenci.
She was a member of St. Philip
and St. James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg, where she belonged
to the Over-Fifties Club.
She was believed to be the last
living member of the former Maria S.S. Assunta Society of Phillipsburg.
She served many offices within the society and was also a charter
member.
She was a member of the Catholic
Daughters of the Americas, Court Warren #389; St. Mary's Catholic
Church Golden Age Club, Alpha, as well as the Phillipsburg Chapter
Number 4704 of the A.A.R.P. and the Cheerful Singles Club of
Phillipsburg.
Her husband, the late Antonio
Comito died March 3, 1981.
Survivors include two sons, Dominic
A. and Anthony D., both of Phillipsburg; one brother, Dominic
of Ewing Twp., NJ, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A brother, Gregory and a sister, Rose Benzano both died earlier.
Funeral services will be held
10:15 am Thursday from the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main
St., Phillipsburg, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial to
be celebrated at 10:45 am in St. Philip and St. James Catholic
Church, 426 S Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial will be in the parish
cemetery, Greenwich Twp., NJ. Calling hours will be held 2-4
pm and 7-9 pm Wednesday in the Funeral home. |
