Amelia Cuva, 95, of Phillipsburg, died Wednesday, May 5, 1999 in her home. She was a former sewing machine operator in the Phillipsburg-Easton area for many years. Born December 3, 1903 in Locono, Canonese, in Torino Italy, she was the daughter of the late Giacomo and Plautilla Giacobbi DeBernardi. She was a member of St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church in Phillipsburg. She had also been a member of the former Marie S.S. Assunta Society in Phillipsburg. Her husband, the late Antonino Cuva died February 7, 1975. She is survived by four daughters, Anna Mary of Phillipsburg, Angelina Shook of Easton, Victoria Wagner of Palmer Twp. and Amelia Garvey of Bradford, NY; eleven grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. Eleven siblings and a daughter, Josephine Elmo, all died earlier. Funeral services will be held at Noon on Saturday from the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St., Phillipsburg, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 p.m. in St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, 426 S Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial will be in the parish cemetery, Greenwich Twp., NJ. Calling hours will be held from 10:00 a.m. until time of services Saturday in the funeral home.
