Francis J. Calligari, 76, of Saylorsburg, formerly of Pohatcong Twp., died Saturday, January 28, 2006 in Wilson Borough.

His long career consisted of working as a heavy equipment operator, truck driver, owner and operator of Cal’s Service Center, Alpha, NJ, along with many years of farming.

Born January 15, 1930 in Newark, NJ, he was a son of the late Alex and Elizabeth Bacho Berkes.

He was an Army veteran.

His wife of forty-eight years, the former Doris A. Wenner died September 7, 1999.

He is survived by two sons, Bruce J. of Stewartsville and James R. and his wife Kathy of Saylorsburg; three sisters, Elizabeth Youpa of Pohatcong Twp., Julia Rossnagle of Northport Florida and Irene Butz of Altoona, Pa.; two grandchildren, Corrine Calligari and Brad Calligari and his wife Staci. A brother, Alex Berkes died earlier.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery, Phillipsburg. The family will receive visitors in the funeral home from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday evening and again from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday prior to the services. For further information, visit www.noto-wynkoop.com.
