David K. Campbell,
Jr.
David K. Campbell, Jr., 89, of
Pohatcong Township, died Wednesday, November 1, 2006 in Warren
Hospital.
He owned and operated the former
Highway Motors on Foch Blvd. in Pohatcong Township until 1995.
He and his late wife, the former Lillian Penske, co-owned Lil's
Antiques on Route 22 in Pohatcong Township. He once worked as
a mechanic at Tersigni Oldsmobile in Phillipsburg.
Born October 27, 1917 in Burlington,
NJ, he was the son of the late David K., and Emma Keller Killinger
Campbell.
David served in the Army as a
private from 1937 to 1939 and again as sergeant from 1941 to
1945. He fought in the Battle of the Bulge during World War Two.
He attended the United Presbyterian
Church in Alpha; was a former honorary member of V.F.W. Post
131 in Belvidere, N.J.; the Phillipsburg Senior Center Friends
Club of Phillipsburg and the Phillipsburg Chapter of A.A.R.P.
He is survived by his wife, the
former Carmila "Millie" (Noto) Walter; three step-sons,
Douglas and his wife Helen of Easton, Alan of Wilson Borough,
and Dennis of Nazareth; three step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.
Three sisters, Catherine Boice, Martha Lair and Emma Lou Rains
died earlier.
Graveside services will be held
11:00 a.m. Friday in Fairmount Cemetery, Phillipsburg. There
will be no calling hours. The Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289
