Frank J. "Peaches" Catino, died Wednesday, October 17, 2007, one day before his 91st birthday, in the Lopatcong Center.

Frank retired after forty-three years of service from Atlantic States Cast Iron Pipe Company, Phillipsburg, where he began when it was known as the Warren Pipe and Foundry.

Born October 18, 1916, he was a son of the late Giuseppe and Filomena Rubano Catino.

He was an active member most of his life of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Phillipsburg, where he served on the vestry, as a youth group advisor, usher, grounds keeper and organized many fund raising events for many years.

Frank was a Corporal in the Army during World War Two and served with Cannon Company, 310th Infantry 78th Division. He was awarded the Purple Heart medal, Good Conduct medal, European-African-Middle Eastern medal with two Bronze Stars and the World War Two Victory medal.

His wife of fifty-two years, the former Mary Brailo died in 1992.

Survivors include a daughter, Phyllis Catino Moser, of Bethlehem; brothers, Louis, of Roseto, Pat of Coplay and Sigmund, Palma and Peter, all of Pen Argyl; a sister, Phyllis Becker of Bethlehem, seven grandchildren, Kelly Fox, Frank Wismer, Sandra Youpa, Gina Stocker, Ann Marie Sabo, Daniel Wismer and David Cerino, Jr.; eleven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and his companion, Marie Lane. He was pre-deceased by a daughter, Mariaelena Cerino, brothers, Ernest, Anthony and Charles and sisters, Mamie DeNardo and Josephine Abruzzeze.

Services will begin 10:15 a.m. Saturday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg, followed by a Funeral Eucharist at 11:00 a.m. in the church, 500 Hillcrest Blvd, Phillipsburg. Interment will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Harmony Township, NJ. Calling hours will be 6-8 p.m. Friday and again on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services in the funeral home.
