Carmelo A. "Carl" Corpora,
73, of Phillipsburg, died Sunday, September 15, 2002 in Warren
Hospital in Phillipsburg.
He was a sales and delivery man
for Frito-Lay in Belfast, Pa. for seventeen years, retiring in
1986. He then work for Wells-Fargo Security at Ingersoll-Rand
in Phillipsburg until 1997.
Born August 24, 1929 in New York
City, N.Y., he was the son of the late Joseph and Maria Merlo
Corpora.
He was a member of St. Philip
and St. James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg and a member of the
church's Holy Name Society.
He was a member of the Phillipsburg
Chapter of the American Association of Retired Persons. He enjoyed
golfing with St. Anthony's Golf League in Easton and bowling
with the Warren Commercial Bowling League at Warren Lanes in
Phillipsburg.
He and his wife, the former Mary
Josephine "Josie" Polcari observed their 46th wedding
anniversary June 2nd.
In addition to his wife, he is
survived by two sons, Mickey and his wife Christi of Palmer Township
and John D. and his wife Joanne of Nazareth; a brother Placido
of Homer, N.Y.; two sisters, Josephine of Wayne, N.J. and Maria
Sedlacek of Budd Lake, N.J.; two grandsons, Vincent and Nicholas
and a granddaughter Olivia Rose. Two brothers Santo and Anthony
and a sister Bessie all died earlier.
Funeral services will begin 9:00
a.m. Thursday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main
St., Phillipsburg, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at
9:30 a.m. in the church, 426 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial
will be in the parish cemetery, Greenwich Township, N.J. Visitation
will be held Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and from 7:00
p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
