Ruth M. Diehl, of Phillipsburg, died Saturday, August 30, 1997 in Warren Hospital.

She was a former elementary school teacher in the Phillipsburg School District.

Born in Phillipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Edgar and Edith Haley Beckwith.

She and her husband, George M. Diehl observed their fifty-eighth wedding anniversary last September 24.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Easton.

She was graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1931 and from Wilson College, Chambersburg, PA inn 1935.

She was a member of the Wilson College Club and the University Women of Easton.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Phyllis E. Garverich of Churchville, PA, Marilyn R. Morris of Palmer Twp. and Arlene R. Diehl of Phillipsburg and four grandchildren. A brother Alfred died earlier.

Private cremation will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no services or calling hours. Burial will be in Hay's Cemetery, Easton. The Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg is handling the arrangements.
