Roland J. Dixon, 82, of Greenlawn, Suffolk County, New York, formerly of died Monday, April 28, 1997 in the Somerset Medical Center, Somerville, NJ.
He was a school teacher for the Harborfields School District, in Greenlawn, NY.
Born January 1, 1915, in the Bronx, NY, he was the son of the late James Henry and Beatrice VanRiper Dixon.
He was a captain in the Army with the 766th Bomb Squadron and the 461st Bomb Group during World War Two.
His wife, the former Margaret Williamson died July 16, 1995.
He is survived by one son, James E. of Neshanic Station, NJ; one daughter, Mona D. Bergman of Greenlawn, NY; one sister, Geraldine Hamilton of the Bronx and two grandchildren.
Private cremation services were held at the convienience of the family. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
