George E. Davis

George E. Davis, 82, of Palmer Township, died Wednesday, September 17, 2003 in his home.

He was a chemical worker at J.T. Baker Chemical Co., in Phillipsburg for 39 years, retiring in 1986.

Born August 3, 1921 in Scranton, Pa., he was a son of the late William H. and Louise R. Weisel Davis.

He was a former corporal in the Army and was awarded the Purple Heart.

He attended the Central Assembly of God Church in Bethlehem, Pa.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 724 in Wind Gap and the Safety First Fire Co. in Palmer Twp.

His wife of fifty one years, the former Moselle M. Schweitzer died earlier.

Survivors include two son, Robert G. of Indianapolis, Indiana and Mark C. of Allentown; four daughters, Jeanne L. Wach of Nazareth, Cynthia K. Beck of Phillipsburg, Linda A. Case of Palmer Twp. and Nancy M. Bracken of Forks Twp. and 15 grandchildren who he cherished, Kristi, Rebecca, Lauren, Hunter, Amsi, Jarrett, Sherri, Lori, Chad, Joshus, Garry, Paul, Holly, Jeffrey and Erik.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial will be in the Wind Gap Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home. Online condolences may be submitted at www.noto-wynkoop.com.
