Joseph P. Deemer, Jr.

Joseph Paul Deemer, Jr., 50, of Pohatcong Twp., died Tuesday, March 26, 2002.

He was a senior case worker for the New Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services in Washington for 25 years.

Born July 31, 1951 in Phillipsburg, he was the son of Gloria Bisanti Deemer Lance of Pohatcong Township and the late Joseph P. Deemer, Sr.

He graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1969 and from Trenton State College in 1973.

He was a former volunteer for Big Brothers / Big Sisters of Warren County for many years. He enjoyed collecting various items, such as comic books and Czechoslovakian pottery.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by two brothers, John Deemer of Pohatcong Township and Walter Lance, Jr., of Easton; three sisters, Cindy Lance of Pohatcong Township, Brenda Lance of Phillipsburg and Tammy Nolan of Stockertown, Pa. and nieces and nephews. A step-father, Walter N. Lance, Sr., died earlier.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. The Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg is handling the arrangements.
