John S. Ference, Sr., 91, of Phillipsburg, died Monday in Warren Hospital. He was a welder for Ingersoll-Rand, South Side, Easton. Born September 16, 1907 in Catasaugua, he was the son of the late Andrew and Anna Burda Ference. He was a member of St. Philip and St, James Roman Catholic Church, Phillipsburg. He and his wife, the former Mary Theresa Bilder observed their seventy-first wedding anniversary on July 9th. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, John S. Jr., of Alpha; a daughter, Marie Regemann of Easton, four sisters, Mary Ferack of Allentown, Elizabeth Mondjack and Anna Schwenk, both of Whitehall and Katherine Nederostiek of Philadelphia; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A son, Richard, a daughter Jeanette and four brothers, Andrew, Steven, Paul and Michael A., Sr. all died earlier. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. today in St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church, 426 South Main St., Phillipsburg, NJ. Private cremation will follow the Mass. There will be no calling hours. The family requests memorial contributions to the Church, 430 South Main St., Phillipsburg. The Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg is handling the funeral arrangements. |
