Alice M. Farina

Alice M. Farina, 84, of Phillipsburg, died Tuesday, January 6, 2004 in Warren Hospital.

She had formerly worked for Dixie Cup in Easton.

Born February 26, 1919 in Phillipsburg, she was a daughter of the late Marshall and Myrtle Savacool Francis.

She was of the Methodist faith.

Alice will be remembered for her love of jazz and big band music. She often went to Atlantic City, just to hear the music.

Her husband, Louis died in 1987.

She is survived by a brother, William E. Francis of Phillipsburg, a sister, Jane Strouse of North Port, Fla.; three nieces, Nancy Hastings of Mobile, Ala., Jo Ann Standlick of Bath, Pa., and Betty Jane Gajate of Miami, Fla. and two nephews, James Francis of Morristown, N.J. and Jeffrey Francis of Blairstown, N.J., a cousin, Olive Hower of Easton and sister-in-law, Rita Francis of Hackettstown. Two brothers, Marshall and Harold died earlier.

Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg, N.J., with the Rev. William Spangler, Pastor of the Wesley Methodist United Church, Phillipsburg, officiating. Burial will be in the Fairmount Cemetery, Phillipsburg.
