Carolyn A. Foss

Carolyn A. Foss, 72, of Greenwich Twp., died Thursday, May 27, 2004 in Easton Hospital.

Born July 2, 1931 in Easton, she was a daughter of the late William and Caroline Koch Schroeder.

Carolyn enjoyed reading, traveling and cherished the time she spent with her family. She was also an accomplished needlework artist and was active in several area embroidery guilds. She was nationally recognized for excellence in her work, including many that were on display at the Smithsonian Institute and other public exhibitions.

She was a member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, Alpha, N.J., where she was a former C.C.D. teacher.

Carolyn and her husband, Lloyd E. Foss, Sr., celebrated their fifty-third wedding anniversary on December 27, 2003.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by four sons, Lloyd E. Jr. of West Chester, Pa., Philip and Andrew, both of Easton and Charles of Stewartsville; three daughters, Mary Lou Unangst of Harmony Twp., Caroline Smith of Ashburn, Va., and Jennifer Davis of Dryden, N.Y.; four brothers, William of Easton, Edward of Phillipsburg, Karl of Annapolis, MD. and Thomas of Dunnsville, Va.; three sisters, Virginia Sutton of Phillipsburg, Mary Schroeder and Joan Bamford, both of Easton and fifteen grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a brother John and three (triplets) grandchildren.

There will no be public viewing. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, in the church, Fifth Ave., Alpha. Entombment will be in the parish mausoleum following the Mass. The Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg is handling the arrangements. An online obituary and tributes can be found at www.noto-wynkoop.com.
