William E. Francis, 78, of Phillipsburg, died Monday, March 12, 2007 in Easton Hospital, Wilson Borough.

He was a retired security guard, having worked for Wells-Fargo Security and Burns International Security Services in Denville, NJ.

Born September 24, 1928 in Easton, Pa., he was a son of the late Marshall E. and Myrtle Savacool Francis.

He was of the Methodist faith and was a member of the Phillipsburg Chapter of A.A.R.P.

Bill was a corporal in the Army veteran during the Korean War.

He is survived by three nieces, Nancy Hastings and her husband David of Mobile, Ala., Jo Ann Standlick and her husband Richard of Bath, Pa., Betty Jane Gajate and her husband Joe of Miami, Fla.; two nephews, James Francis and his wife Mary of Morristown, NJ and Jeffrey and his wife Terri of Blairstown, NJ; a cousin Olive Hower of Easton and a sister-in-law, Rita Francis of Hackettstown, NJ; five great-nieces and three great-nephews. Two brothers, Marshall R. and Harold J. and two sisters, Jane Strouse and Alice M. Farina all died earlier.

Services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of services Friday in the funeral home. Online condolences my be submitted by visiting www.noto-wynkoop.com.
