Jr.
Peter P. Gwaldis, Jr., 89, of
Lopatcong Twp., NJ, formerly of Elizabeth, NJ, died Monday, October
8, 2001 in the Brakeley Center in Lopatcong Twp.
He was a machine designer for
the Singer Sewing Machine Co., in Finderne, NJ for more than
thirty years, retiring in 1969.
Born July 29, 1912 in Elizabeth
NJ, he was the son of the late Peter P., Sr. and Amelia Gwaldis.
He graduated the Juilliard School
of Music in New York and was a second-seat violinist in the New
Jersey Symphony Orchestra. He was also a member of the American
Federation of Musicians, Local 151 in Elizabeth, NJ.
His wife, the former Helen Lawrence
died in 1958.
He is survived by five sons,
Paul of New Brunswick, NJ, Robert of Carteret, NJ, Ronald of
Seattle, WA, Allen of Palm Springs, CA and Peter, III of Houston,
TX; two daughters, Marie Gallagher of Columbia, SC and Loretta
Stiles of Palm Springs, CA; a brother Charles Gwaldo of Brick
Twp., NJ, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Two
brothers, John F. and James both died earlier.
Private cremation will be held
at the convenience of the family. A memorial service will be
announced later. The Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main
St., Phillipsburg, NJ is handling the arrangements.
