Eleanor H. Garis, 72, of Phillipsburg, NJ, died Wednesday, February 6, 2002 in Warren Hospital, Phillipsburg.

She was a former assembly line worker for M.C. Riccardi, Co. in Alpha, NJ.

Born September 2, 1929 in Phillipsburg, she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Elizabeth Ritter Force.

Her hobbies included crafts and crocheting.

Eleanor and her husband, Howard E. Garis, Sr., observed their fifty-second wedding anniversary on April 30th.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Howard E., Jr. and his wife, Colleen of North Pole, Alaska, Terry Lee and his wife Heike of Greensboro, South Carolina and Mark Joseph of Bloomsbury, NJ.; a daughter, Patricia Ann, wife of David Heller of Easton, eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by many brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main Street, Phillipsburg. Interment will be in the Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Twp., Pa. A calling hour will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services Saturday in the funeral home.

The family requests memorial contributions to Catholic Charities, and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
