Barry W. Gilbert, 61, of Phillipsburg, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006 upon arrival at Easton Hospital.

Born July 8, 1944 in Easton, he was a son of the late William, Sr., and Myrtle Smiley Gilbert.

Barry was an assistant maintenance supervisor at the Palmer Park Mall, Palmer Township. He formerly worked in maintenance at Ss. Philip and James School, Phillipsburg, the Phillipsburg Housing Authority and the Town of Phillipsburg. He was a former member of the Phillipsburg Fire Company, No. 1.

His wife of twenty-six years, the former Rose Compano, died April 11, 2006

Barry is survived by three daughters, Brandi Gilbert, of Phillipsburg, Tara Gilbert of Effort, Pa. and Krista Eaton and her husband Matthew of Bath, Pa.; two step-daughters, Shanna of Allentown and Heather Beam of Phillipsburg; two step-sons, Brian Beam of Phillipsburg and Darryl Beam of Pennsylvania; three brothers, William, Jr., Phillipsburg, James of Wind Gap and Lee of Fla; a sister, Kathy of Phillipsburg; a half-brother, Ronnie Hendershot of Fla., and 15 grandchildren. A son, Barry, two daughters, Ann and Mary and a granddaughter all died earlier.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. The family will begin receiving visitors at 10 a.m. Burial of his cremated remains will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Plainfield Twp., Pa.
