Hazel C. Groff
Hazel C. (Smith) Spargo Groff,
67, of Phillipsburg, died Tuesday, April 4, 2000 in Beth Israel
Hospital in Passaic, NJ.
She was a foster grandparent
for the Hunterdon State School in Clinton for many years.
Born April 10, 1932 in Frankford,
NY, she was the daughter of the late James and Frances Buttle
Smith.
She and her husband, Darwin Dewey
Groff observed their nineteenth wedding anniversary November
10th.
She was a member of the First
Baptist Church in Lopatcong Twp.
In addition to her husband, she
is survived by three daughters, Frances Spargo of Bristol, Tenn.,
Shirley Spargo of Phillipsburg and Betty Spargo; three sons,
Harry Spargo of Phillipsburg, Jerry Spargo of Glen Gardner, NJ
and Eddie Spargo of Flemington, NJ, a brother, James Smith of
Florida and two sisters, Frances Smith of Florida and Ruth Smith
of Phoenix, Arizona; a step-son, Michael Groff of Phillipsburg
and a step-daughter, Brenda Koenig of Somerset, SC; seventeen
grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held
10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 11th in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home,
289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. The Rev. Allan Schaarschmidt,
Pastor of the Church of the Blessed Hope of the Nazarene in Phillipsburg
will officiate the services. Following the services, interment
of the cremated remains will take place in the Bloomsbury Cemetery
in Bloomsbury, NJ. |
