Woodrow H. "Woody" Hartzell, 64, of Palmer Township, died Wednesday, October 17, 2007 in the Hospice House of St. Luke's, Lower Saucon Township. Born: On September 18, 1943 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late Woodrow E. and Dorothy I. Smith Hartzell. Personal: His wife of 36 years, the former Jo Ann M. Aiello, died July 30, 1999. He was a lab technician and particle tester for the former Fibermark in Hughesville, NJ. He also served as a police officer in Palmer Township in the 1960's. He was an Airman Second Class in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. Woodrow was a classic car enthusiast and also enjoyed drag racing and NASCAR racing. He was an avid animal lover. Memberships: He was a past president of the United Paper Workers Union, Local 1712, and was a member of the American Legion Post 576, Allentown. He was a member of the Young Republican Club, and the AARP. He was a proud member of the Democratic party. Survivors: He is survived by a son, Rick H. and his girlfriend Terry of Palmer Township; a daughter, Renae M. Schoch and her husband Steve of Chestnut Hill Township, Monroe County, Pa; a brother, David D. of Palmer Township; a niece; his companion, Sandra Soprano of Allentown, and his Shih Tzu, Nathan. Services: Will be Sunday at 3:30 p.m. in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S. Main Street, Phillipsburg, NJ. Call Sunday from 2 p.m. until time of services in funeral home.
