Martin J. Herleman

Martin J. Herleman, 81, of New Village, Franklin Township, Warren County, died Friday, May 10, 2002 in his home.

He was a self-employed farmer for most of his life. He also worked as a maintenance worker for Ingersoll-Rand, Phillipsburg.

Born August 6, 1920 in New Village, he was the son of the late Martin and Marie (Breniese) Herleman.

He was a member St. Christopher's Mission Church in New Village, a mission church of St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg.

He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Council 474, Warren County and the Pope John XXIII Assembly 669, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus, Phillipsburg.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He and his wife, the former Lydia DelVecchio observed their fifty-fifth wedding anniversary July 6th, 2001.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Martin P. of New Village, NJ; a daughter, Ann Marie Shaneberger of Bath, Pa.; a brother, Harry of Belvidere, NJ; a sister Adaline Kissinger of Walton, Kentucky; two grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Two sisters, Elizabeth Knapp and Maria
Herleman died earlier.

Funeral services will begin 9:00 a.m. Tuesday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, 426 South Main St. Phillipsburg. Entombment will be in the Holy Apostle's Mausoleum, Greenwich Township, NJ. Calling hours will be from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
