Joseph P. Hunt, Sr., 64, of Phillipsburg, died Saturday, July 31, 2004 in his home.

He was a freight transporter for Rod Harrison Trucking, Washington, N.J. for 45 years.

Born April 12, 1940 in Montclair, N.J., he was a son of the late Harry and Margaret Healy Hunt.

He was a Specialist E-4 in the New Jersey National Guard, serving in the Persian Gulf War. Hw was a life member of V.F.W. Post 6701, Washington, N.J. He was awarded the Army Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Southwest Asia Service Medal.

He and his wife, the former Karen L. Berry celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary last September 20th.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Jessica Hunt at home and Catherine Cole of Quakertown, Pa. and a son, Joseph P. Jr., of South Amboy, N.J.; three brothers, Edward of Whitney Point, N.Y, Henry of Troy Hills, N.J. and Thomas of West Orange, N.J.; a step-son, Robert Berry of Wilkes Barre, Pa., a step-daughter, Deborah Bennett at home and two grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held 7:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Phillipsburg Alliance Church, Lincoln St., Phillipsburg. There will be no visitation. Online condolences may be submitted at www.noto-wynkoop.com.
