Ruby Izak, 73, of Phillipsburg, died Thursday, April 10, 2003 in her home.

She was a former nurses aid at Warren Hospital and the Warren County Visiting Homemakers.

Born June 9, 1929 in Easton, she was a daughter of the late John H. and Elizabeth Fields Thornton.

She was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her husband of fifty years, John A.; a son, Barid Thornton of Phillipsburg; five daughters, Tara White, Johnnie Reed and Dawna Langen, all of Easton, Sherie Brockel and her husband Scott of Bethlehem and Nadine Gray and her husband Paul of Jackson, Miss.; twenty-seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two adopted daughters, Lillian Pancoast and Debra Waldron, both of Phillipsburg. A daughter, Kendra Hower, three brothers, Clarence, William and Leroy and two sisters, Elizabeth Fitzpatrick and June Taylor; and a son-in-law, James White all died earlier.

Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday in the Grace Baptist Church, 330 South Main St., Phillipsburg, with the Rev. Carl V. Brown, Sr. officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of services Monday in the church. Private cremation will follow the services. The Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St., Phillipsburg.
