Antonio Loreti, 98, of Phillipsburg, died Thursday, July 3, 1997 in Warren Hospital, where he was a patient for the past two weeks.
He was a machine operator for the Sanco Piece Die Works, Phillipsburg before retiring in September of 1968. He also worked for the former Warren Foundry, Phillipsburg and the Delaware and Lackawanna Railroad.
Born January 1, 1999 in Petrizzi, Province of Catanzaro, Italy, he was the son of the late Peter and Catherine Piperata Loreti.
He was a member of St. Philip and St. James Roman Catholic Church, Phillipsburg.
He was a member of the former Sons of Italy in Phillipsburg.
His wife, the former Cecilia Iozzo, died in June of 1990.
He is survived by one son, Peter, with whom he resided; one grandson; one great-grandson, one sister, Marianne Viscomi of Petrizzi, Italy; and several nieces and nephews. Two brothers, Guiseppe and Frank both died earlier.
Funeral services will held 9:00 a.m. Monday from the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 So. Main St., Phillipsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. Monday, in St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, 426 So. Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial will be in the parish cemetery, Greenwich Twp. A Calling hour will be held Monday, 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
