Concettina M. "Connie" La Ganga,86, of Phillipsburg, died Thursday, December 24, 2009 in Warren Hospital.

Born February 22, 1923 in Phillipsburg, she was a daughter of the late Sebastian and Mary Cotonzaro Valenti.

She was a retired seamstress, formerly working for the Northampton Pants Co., and A&H Sportswear, both in Easton.

She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Alpha, NJ. She was a member of the Birthday Club with local friends and the Holiday Club with co-workers. She was a former member of the Y.M.I.A.'s Ladies Auxiliary in Phillipsburg.

Her husband, the late Paul "Father" La Ganga died in 1991.

Survivors include a daughter, Marie E. Hummer and her husband, John, of Phillipsburg; three sisters, Margaret P. Valenti, of Mansfield Township, NJ, Maria V. Balsemo of Paris KY and Mildred V. Chowning, of Lexington, KY; two grandsons, Gregory and John-Paul Hummer, both of Phillipsburg. Two brothers, Leonard and Anthony both died earlier.

Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Sunday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main Street, Phillipsburg. Funeral services will begin 9:15 a.m. Monday in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in the church, 830 Fifth Ave, Alpha, NJ. Entombment will be in the Holy Apostles Mausoleum, Greenwich Township.
