Onofrio Marino

Onofrio Marino, of Palmer Township, died Monday, December 11, 1995 upon arrival at Easton Hospital.

He had several occupations while employed for the former Jersey Central Railroad, which later became Conrail, and retired as a conductor in 1981.

Born March 30, 1921 in Phillipsburg, he was the son of the late Alfonso and Josephine Rumore Marino, Sr.

He attended Phillipsburg High School and Churchman's Business School in Easton.

A navy veteran of World War II, he attained the rank of Radioman Third Class.

He was a member of the Happy Travelers Senior Citizens of Phillipsburg.

He was a member of the St. Jane Frances DeChantal Catholic Church in Wilson Boro.

He and his wife, the former Madeline R. Simons celebrated their fifty-second wedding anniversary on August 26th.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, James O., of
Alpha; two daughters, Patricia A. Cronin and Pamela J. Bloshuk, both of Palmer Township; three brothers, Joseph A., of Easton, Santo of Lopatcong Township and Alphonso, Jr of Alpha; four sisters, Nellie A. Piazza and Mary M. Kinsey, both of Bethlehem Township, Ann C. Chisesi of Easton and Beatrice R. McEnroe of Phillipsburg; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A brothers Peter died earlier.

Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main Street, Phillipsburg, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Jane Frances DeChantal Catholic Church, 19th and Washington Sts, Wilson Boro. Interment will be in the Northampton Memorial Shrine, Palmer Township. Calling hours will be held 8:00 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
