David W. McKenna, Sr.

David W. McKenna, Sr., 52, of Phillipsburg, died Tuesday, February 27, 2001 in his home.

He was a baker at several area restaurants and bakeries. He last worked for Larry Holmes' Commodore Inn in Pohatcong Twp.

Born May 8, 1948 in New Brunswick, NJ, he was the son of Ann McKenna and the late Robert F. McKenna.

He was an artist, master craftsman and enjoyed making intricate carvings using various materials. He enjoyed collecting and reading books on tall clipper ships.

He and his wife, the former Katherine D. Hessek observed their twenty-seventh wedding anniversary last December 22.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, David W., Jr., Robert F., John P. and Jacob W.; a daughter, Jessica Ann; three grandchildren, Ricardo Rodriguez, Tiffany McKenna and Justin McKenna, all of Phillipsburg and a sister, Nancy Richmond of Arizona.

Funeral services will be held 7:00 p.m. Friday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St., Phillipsburg, NJ. Rev. Jack Roan of the Stewartsville Presbyterian Church will officiate the services. A calling hour will be held Friday from 6:00 p.m. until time of services Friday in the funeral home.

The family will accept memorial contributions sent to them in care of the funeral home.
