Elizabeth L. Meister, 86, of Pittstown, NJ, died Tuesday, April 24, 2001 in Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Twp., NJ. She retired as the Director of School Food Services for the City of Alexandria, VA in 1976. She previously worked in Arlington, VA as manager of the school lunch program for Wakefield High School. Born July 3, 1914 in Conway, New Hampshire, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Edith A. Nute Lynch. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics in 1936. She was a former member of the Board of Directors for the National School Food Service Association. Her husband, the late Harold E. Meister died in December 7, 1998. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Jane M. and Alan Ritchie, with whom she resided; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul W. and Kay Meister of Madison, Wisconsin; a brother, Donald Lynch of Las Vegas, NV; four grandchildren, David and Janet Meister and Steven Ritchie and Alan Ritchie and his wife Julie; a brother-in-law, Edgar Meister of Chadron, Nebraska and two sisters-in-law, Josephine Lynch of Richfield, Minn. and Bernice Sylling of Caledonia, Minn. Two brothers, Charles and James Lynch died earlier. Private cremation will be held. There will be no calling hours. Interment will take place in the Oakwood Cemetery in Austin, Minnesota. The Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg, NJ is handling the arrangements.
