Caterina (Santoro) Maida, 85, of Phillipsburg, N.J., died Saturday, December 31, 2005, in Warren Hospital, Phillipsburg. Born November 11, 1920 in Petrizzi, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Anthony and Carlotta (Morisano) Santoro. She was a member of Ss. Philip & James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg. She was a sewing machine operator for the Miss Jay Lore Sportswear and the Gary Lee Sportswear, both formerly of Phillipsburg. Her husband of sixty-two years, Joseph Maida died September 12, 2002. She is survived by her two sons, Joseph and his wife, Sylvia of Phillipsburg and Anthony and his wife Theresa of Bangor; a daughter, Vicki Derk and her husband, Charles of Palmer Twp.; two sisters, Bettina Carellario and Annina Paravati, both of Petrizzi, Italy; a brother Vito Santoro of France; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A brother Robert died earlier and a great grandson, Luke Anthony Maida died in 2000. Arrangements are being handled by Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St, Phillipsburg, N.J., where the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. THURSDAY in Ss. Philip & James Catholic Church, 426 S Main St., Phillipsburg, Entombment will be at Holy Apostle's Mausoleum, Greenwich Twp.
