Robert J. Marzuoli, 74, of Phillipsburg, died Saturday, January 27, 2007. Born December 20, 1932 in Phillipsburg, he was a son of the late Faust and Mary DiGiacomo Marzuoli. Bob graduated St. Philip and St. James Catholic High School in 1951, then served in the Army where he became a Corporal during the Korean War until 1955. He was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division and with the 7th Infantry Division as a Counter Mortar Radar Operator. Following his honorable discharge from the Army, Bob became a Draftsman and Bill of Material Writer for Ingersoll-Rand, Cameron Pump Division in Phillipsburg until his retirement in 1987. He was a member of St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg and the John Dolak American Legion Post, Alpha, NJ. As a sportsman who enjoyed hunting and shooting skeet, Bob was a past-president of the Phillipsburg Pistol Club and was a member of the Rural Sportsman Club, Trexlertown. He also built his own home in Greentown, Pa, and was a member of the Fawn Hill Resident's Association. He also enjoyed photography and was a devoted Yankee fan. Last year, Bob fulfilled his life's long dream, along with his brother Tom, when they visited their parent's hometown in Città Sant'Angelo, Province of Pescara, Abruzzo, Italy. He is survived by a brother, Thomas of Phillipsburg; cousins, Laura Badway, Phil Marzuoli, Richard Marzuoli and Francis Marzuoli and his wife, Phyllis, William, Arthur and Charles Roth and Eleanor Neff; a companion of twenty-eight years, Anne Harp Auchenbach and her children, Michael and his wife, Mary, Robert, Christine Symington and her husband Larry and Sally Weaver and many of Anne's grandchildren and great-grandchildren that all loved Bob. A brother, Maurice Marzuoli died earlier. Services will begin at 9:00 a.m. Wednesday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in the church, 426 South Main St., Phillipsburg. Entombment will be in Holy Apostle's Mausoleum at Ss. Philip and James Cemetery, Greenwich Twp. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
