Hallette Monaghan, 88, of Phillipsburg, died Thursday, June 16, 2005 in Warren Hospital.

Born April 17, 1917 in Medieval, England, she was a daughter of the late Halleck and Mary Clugston Evans.

She was an accomplished pianist who enjoyed classical music and listening to her son James and other friends play guitar. She also enjoyed reading, rides through the country and animals.

She was of the Catholic faith.

Her husband, the late John F. Monaghan died in 1971.

A devoted, caring and loving mother, Hallette is survived by two sons, John Monaghan and Sally of Phillipsburg and James of Easton; a daughter Mary E.C. Monaghan, with whom she resided; a brother, Richard Evans of Cumberland, MD; five grandchildren, John, Jessica, Corrine and Jamie Rachel Monaghan, Jeaneen Reider, a great-grandson Jarrett Reider; two step-grandchildren, Jim and Chris Gunderman and nieces and nephews.
