Russell Noto
Russell Noto, 78, of Lopatcong
Twp., NJ, died November 20, 2000 in Warren Hospital.
He was an inspector for Ingersoll-Rand
Cameron Division for thirty-two years and retired in April, 1984
Born March 8, 1922 in Easton,
Pa., he was the son of the late Pasquale and Angela Janna Noto.
He was of the Catholic faith.
Mr. Noto was a Corporal in the
United States Army during World War Two and was assigned to Company
D, 148th Infantry Regiment, 37th Infantry Division. He was in
the Luzon Campaign and the Northern Solomons Campaign. He was
awarded a Purple Heart Medal, Bronze Star Medal, the Philippine
Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Service Star, the American
Theater Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon and the World
War Two Victory Medal.
He was a past commander of the
John Dolak American Legion Post in Alpha; a member of the Warren
County Disabled American Veteran's and was a life member of the
Andrew A. O'dor VFW Post 9308, Phillipsburg.
He was a member of the Wilson
Borough Republican Club.
Mr. Noto and his wife, the former
Leona Phillips, observed their fifty-second wedding anniversary
in October.
In addition to his wife, he is
survived by two sons, William R. of Charlottesville, Va. and
Joseph T. of Broadway, NJ; a brother, Pat of Allentown, Pa. and
three sisters, Anna Schooley of Anchorage, Alaska, Angie Misero
of Easton, Pa. and Carmella Campbell of Philliipsburg. A brother
Anthony died earlier.
Funeral services will be held
10:00 a.m. Saturday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S.
Main St., Phillipsburg. Rev. Vincent P. Chen will officiate the
services. Burial will be in Easton Heights Cemetery, 10th St.,
Easton. Calling hours will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Friday in the funeral home.
