Russell J. Nicrone
Russell J. Nicrone, 77, of Phillipsburg,
died Thursday, January 20, 2005 in Warren Hospital.
He was a butcher and supervisor
for several area markets in Phillipsburg, including Falk's, the
Co-Op, Cather's and A&P.
Born November 19, 1927 in Easton,
he was a son of the late Samuel and Angelina Piro Nicrone.
He was a member of Ss. Philip
and James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg.
Russell enjoyed playing pinocole
and was a member of the Y.M.I.A. and the Italian American Pleasure
Club, both in Phillipsburg.
He was a corporal in the Army
during World War Two. He served with the 539th Field Artillery
Battalion, Battery A and had received the Asiatic-Pacific Theater
Medal and the WWII Victory Medal.
He and his wife, the former
Theresa Attinello were married for thirty-two years.
In addition to his wife, he
is survived by a son, Russell S. of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; two daughters,
Rae Kramer of Mechanicsburg, Pa. and Joanne Quigley of Florence,
S.C.; a brother, Salvatore of Greentown, Pa.; a sister Sadie
Ruggiero of Phillipsburg; a step-son, Dante Trembler of Colorado;
three step-daughters, Donna Marie Milliken of Florida, Lucy M.
Stratton of Easton and Theresa A. Keck of Palmer Twp.; ten grandchildren
and two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were private
for the famliy. Entombment was in Holy Apostle Mausoleum, Greenwich
Twp., N.J. The Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St.,
Phillipsburg was in charge of arrangements.
