Rebecca Hoagland Nowalk

Rebecca "Becky" Hoagland Nowalk, 52, of Phillipsburg, died peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, July 23rd, 2005 in her home.

She loved her Lord Jesus and was active in local churches and church organizations, serving on various councils, committees teaching Sunday and Vacation Bible Schools and sought opportunities to study the Bible whenever possible.

She was a past coordinator of the Phillipsburg Area Meals on Wheels program for nine years and was a current member of the Board of Directors. She continued to serve as an active volunteer delivering meals until her passing.

As creative as she was intelligent, she was an avid reader and a talented artist. Her joys included painting, sewing, quilting and working with preschool children among countless others.

Born December 16th, 1952 in Easton, she was a daughter of Bertha Nagy Hoagland of Nazareth, Pa. and the late George J., Hoagland, Sr.

She graduated from Easton Area High School in 1970, and Clarion College, Clarion, Pa. in 1974.

She was married on May 24, 1975 to Charles "Chuck" George Nowalk, formerly of Irwin, PA.

She was a devoted and loving mother to her three sons, Nicholas George and his wife Kasey Nicole of the Twin Cities, MN; Stephen Andrew of Middletown, CT and Alexander Charles, currently attending Ramapo College, Mahwah, NJ. She is also survived by an elder sister, Roberta Hoagland and a younger brother, George J. Hoagland, Jr., both of Easton, PA.

A Christian service of remembrance will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the auditorium of Phillipsburg High School, Hillcrest Blvd., Phillipsburg. The family will receive guests beginning at 1:00 p.m. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg.
