Gladys Elaine Oppel, 70, of Stroudsburg, died Tuesday, May 9, 2006 in Pocono Medical Center.

She was a former visiting nurse with the Warren County Visiting Nurses.

Born December 26, 1935 in Phillipsburg, she was a daughter of the late Hugh and Elizabeth Kane McEnroe.

She was a former member of Ss. Philip and James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg.

Gladys and her husband Kenneth A. Oppel celebrated their 24th wedding anniversary September 28th.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Frank G. Wismer and his wife Carol of Palmer Twp.; two step-sons, Kenneth A. Jr., of Mansfield Twp., NJ and Brian of Stanhope, NJ; a step-daughter, Ann Marie Oppel of Washington, NJ and a brother James McEnroe of California, and eight grandchildren. Four brothers, Hugh, Paul, Frank and George all died earlier.

Services were private under the direction of the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg.
