Mary E. Pursel, 91, formerly of the Brakeley Garden Apts and Huntington, Pohatcong Twp., died Tuesday, March 19, 1996 in the Care Center of Lopatcong where she was a guest since 1993.

She worked in the maintenance dept. At Ingersoll-Rand for many years and retired in 1979.

Born August 31, 1904 in Easton, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Bertha Horn Clause.

She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Straw Church Circle, Greenwich Twp.

She was a member of the Greenwich Twp. Senior Citizens and St. Mary's Golden Age Club, Alpha.

He husband, the late Stanley B. Pursel died in 1953.

Survivors include three sons, Thomas S. Of Mt. Lake, NJ, Alvin C. of Pohatcong Twp. and Robert W. Of Lopatcong Twp.; one daughter, Elizabeth V. Purdy of Pohatcong Twp.; nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Four brothers, Edwin, Alvin, Robert and William and two sisters, Helen Betts and Elizabeth Tigar all died earlier.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg. A calling hour will be held from 10:00 AM until time of services in the funeral home on Thursday. Interment will be in St. James Lutheran Cemetery, Greenwich Twp.
