Charles Schieferstein

Charles Schieferstein, 68, of Phillipsburg, died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, in his home.

He was a retired truck driver for Mannon Excavating in Flemington, N.J.. He formerly worked for the Whippany Paper Board and the Lehigh Valley Railroad.

Born February 25, 1935 in Annandale, N.J., he was a son of the late Charles O. and Margaret Kirchoff Schieferstein.

He was an Army veteran.

He was a member of the National Rifle Association, the North American Fishing Club and the North American Hunting Club.

Charles and his wife, the former Jennie Van Camp, observed their 38th wedding anniversary in January.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Charles J. and his wife Karen, of Phillipsburg; a sister Ann Carroll of Jutland, N.J.; a niece, two nephews and many friends.

Private cremation will be held. Family and friends are invited to a gathering, in remembrance of Charles, at his home, 23 Fox St., Phillipsburg on Saturday, May 31 from 1-4 p.m. The Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg is handling the arrangements.
