Julius Soltes
Julius Soltes, 90, of Phillipsburg,
died Thursday, February 17, 2005 in Warren Hospital.
He was a machinist and assembly
foreman for 35 years at the former Sheridan Machine, Co., Easton.
Born October 14, 1914 in Newark,
Ohio, he was a son of the late Joseph and Anna A. Toth Soltes.
He was an Army Air Force veteran
of World War Two where he served with the 99th Bombardment Group,
348th Bombardment Squadron. He received a Good Conduct Medal,
Meritorious Service Unit Plaque, European African Meddle Eastern
Campaign Medal with two bronze stars and the World War Two Victory
Medal.
He was a member of the Order
of Fleas, Easton, where he enjoyed bowling for many years. He
also enjoyed gardening and fishing.
He was a member of Ss. Philip
and James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg.
He and his wife, the former
Mary Bolgar, observed their fifty-eighth wedding anniversary
April 27, 2004.
In addition to his wife, he
is survived by a son, Gerald J. Soltes and his wife Elaine of
Northampton, Pa., two grandchildren, Jeffrey and Rebecca and
two step-grandsons, Matthew and Evan Yarema and many nieces and
nephews. He was pre-deceased by a brother Joseph and a sister
Anna.
Services will begin at 9:00
am Tuesday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S. Main St.,
Phillipsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30
a.m. Tuesday in the church, 426 S. Main St., Phillipsburg. Entombment
will be in Holy Apostles Mausoleum, Greenwich Twp., NJ. The family
will receive visitors from 6-8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
