John H. Stocker, Sr., 84, of Phillipsburg, died Tuesday, October 22, 2002 in Warren Hospital, Phillipsburg.

He was a former farmer for area farms and later worked for several area factories as a general laborer.

Born July 4, 1918 in Washington, N.J, he was the son of the late Thomas and Maude Beers Stocker.

His wife, the former Laura L. Slack died in 1993.

He is survived by a son, John H., Jr., of Phillipsburg; four daughters, Martha L. Silverthorn of Easton, Barbara J. DeGroat, Sharon L. Marason and Nancy E. Stocker, all of Phillipsburg; a brother, Clifford of Nazareth, Pa.; eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Two brothers, Thomas and Lawrence and two sisters, Maude Andrews and Violet Staples all died earlier.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Stewartsville Lutheran Cemetery, Greenwich Twp., N.J. The Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home is handling the funeral arrangements. Online condolences may be submitted at www.noto-wynkoop.com.
