Wayne P. "Tail Gater", Sweetman, 56, of Pohatcong Twp., NJ, died Wednesday, March 20, 2002 in Warren Hospital.

He was a truck driver for Raymond Hull Trucking, Columbia, NJ and formerly worked the for Lentine Trucking Co. in Pattenburg, NJ.

Born November 1, 1945 in Phillipsburg, he was the son of Charles and Florence Lippincott Groff of Bangor.

He is survived by four daughters, Sheila Varenkamp of Glen Gardner, NJ, Rene'e Sweetman of Stroudsburg, PA, Penny Hall of Pen Argyl, PA and Wendy Sweetman of Bangor, PA.; a brother, David Groff of Phillipsburg; four sisters, Edna Sweetman of Asbury, NJ, Shirley Groff of North Carolina, Jeanie Brown of Easton and Violet Groff of Bangor, PA and five grandchildren. A brother Thomas died earlier.

Funeral services will be held 8:00 p.m. Saturday in the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 South Main St., Phillipsburg, NJ. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until time of services in the funeral home on Saturday. Burial will be private.
