John P. Todaro

John P. Todaro, 79, of Lopatcong Twp., formerly of Phillipsburg, died Thursday, August 24, 2000 in Warren Hospital, Phillipsburg.

He worked in the shipping departments of both Transogram in Easton and Equipto in Tatamy.

Born April 30, 1921 in Phillipsburg, he was the son of the late George and Josephine Rumore Todaro.

He was a member of St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church in Phillipsburg.

He was a Technician Fifth Grade in the U.S. Army and served with the Battery A 130th Field Artillery Battalion during World War Two. Having been in Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe, he received the American Theater Ribbon, European-African-Middle Eastern Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and the World War Two Victory Medal.

He was a member of the O'Donnell Apartments Social Club and the Phillipsburg Elks, both in Phillipsburg; Order of Fleas, V.F.W. Post 1290 and the Lester W. Pfeffer American Legion Post 611, Liberty Hose Co., and Citizen Hose Co., Heights Athletic Assoc., the Seventh Ward Democratic Club all of Easton, Safety First Fire Co., in West Easton,

He is survived by two sisters, Rose M. Frinzi of Lopatcong Twp. and Josephine Todaro of Phillipsburg. Four brothers, Thomas, Salvatore, Joseph and Samuel and a sister, Marie Presto all died earlier.

Funeral services will be held 9:00 a.m. Monday from the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St., Phillipsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 a.m. in St. Philip and St. James Church, 426 S Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial will be in the parish cemetery, Greenwich Twp., NJ. Calling hours will be held 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home.
