Benjamin T. Todd

Benjamin T. Todd, 80, of Saylorsburg, (Ross Township) Pa., died Tuesday, February 13, 2001 in Easton Hospital.

He was a self-employed master carpenter and cabinet maker in Saylorsburg. He was formerly a processor for Keystone Chemical Co. in Hecktown for twenty years.

Born September 18, 1920 in Easton, he was the son of the late Jacob and Irene Dalrymple Todd.

He attended the Phillipsburg Alliance Church in Phillipsburg.

He was a sergeant the United States Army during World War Two and served with the 15th Army Air Force Emergency Rescue B Squadron. His service to his country took him to Bismark-Archipelago, Luzon, New Guinea, Northern Solomons, Southern Philippines and the Western Pacific. He was awarded the American Service Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Philippines Liberation Ribbon with two Bronze Stars and the World War Two Victory Medal

He and his wife, the former Betty L. Snyder observed their fifty-seventh wedding anniversary last September 26.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son Barry T. Todd and his wife Carol of Ross Township, three sisters, Mary Hallet of Phillipsburg, Flora Mitchel of Easton and Frances Lear of Mansfield Twp., NJ and a grandson, Jeremy Todd of Ross Township. A brother Willard Todd and a step-father, Frank Butz died earlier.

Funeral services will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday in the Phillipsburg Alliance Church, 255 Lincoln St., Phillipsburg. Pastor Randy W. Nelson and Rev. Michael Yount will officiate the services. There will be no calling hours. Burial and military honors will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Fairmount Cemetery, Belivdere Rd., Phillipsburg.

The family requests memorial contributions to the church or the V.F.W. Post 1290, 516 Northampton St., Easton, Pa., 18042.

The Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St., Phillipsburg is handling the funeral arrangements.
