Mary A. Torcivia, 78, of Lopatcong Twp., formerly of Phillipsburg, died Monday, April 27, 1998 in Warren Hospital. She was a sewing machine operator for Shaprio and Sons and last worked for Trans-O-Gram Toy Factory, both in Easton. Born June 22, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Sarah DePeitro Alfier. She was a member of St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, Phillipsburg, where she was also a member of the Over Fifties Club. She was also a member of the A.A.R.P. and volunteered for many years as a neighborhood collector for the American Heart Association and the March of Dimes. Mary and her husband, John Torcivia observed their fifty-sixth wedding anniversary March 7. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Rosalie M. Aiello of Lopatcong Twp and several nieces and nephews. Four brother, Philip, Nicholas, Anthony and Thomas, and three sisters, Grace Franceschino, Anna Scarpino and Jennie Patti, all died earlier. Funeral services will be held 9:00 a.m. from the Noto-Wynkoop Funeral Home, 289 S Main St., Phillipsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. Philip and St. James Catholic Church, 426 S Main St., Phillipsburg. Burial will be in St. Philip and St. James Cemetery, Greenwich Twp. Calling hours will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. |
